Join climate leaders from across the state for an engaging and newly imagined California Adaptation Forum, taking place virtually June-October 2021. This year, we’re combining keynotes, informative webinars, and interactive workshops to address key climate challenges faced by California’s communities and adaptation practitioners. We hope you can join us!

The California Adaptation Forum (CAF) is hosted by the Local Government Commission, in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, to foster knowledge exchange, innovation, and mutual support to accelerate climate adaptation efforts and create equitable and resilient communities throughout the state.

    For community-based organizations, Native-led organizations, tribes, and students. 
  • Adaptation Enthusiasts ($60)
    For non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and local, regional, and State government agencies.
  • Catalysts & Benefactors ($120)
    For private sector companies, foundations, and those able to cover the full cost of registration to enable participation from under-resourced organizations.
  • CAF Sponsors ($0)
    For agencies, companies, and organizations sponsoring the 2021 California Adaptation Forum.

Forum Participation

All registrants will be automatically registered for the kickoff and closing plenary sessions.

The 2021 California Adaptation Forum will also include a series of track-based events designed as interactive sessions for participants to work together to address key challenges that California’s adaptation practitioners face. For each of the following tracks, two webinars and three workshops will be organized:

Track 1: Advancing Equitable Adaptation
This track will focus on how to build momentum for equitable adaptation in ways that drive systemic change and deliver tangible benefits to historically under-served, under-represented, and under-invested communities.

Track 2: Integrated Planning for Holistic Solutions
This track will focus on frameworks for integrated planning that consider the full spectrum of climate impacts and sectors to deliver holistic solutions that address climate risks and vulnerabilities while meeting community needs. 

Track 3: Catalyzing Meaningful Adaptation Action
This track will focus on opportunities to accelerate the implementation of climate adaptation strategies by tapping into existing assets, leveraging the power of partnerships, and unlocking new pathways for ongoing investment.
