Company Polices

It is our intention to keep you well informed about tanning!  This means informing you on how to operate the equipment, how to get the most out of your tanning sessions, skin care techniques, and the possible negative effects of tanning as well as the obvious positive effects.  The proper procedure to follow in the tanning room will be clearly explained by the attendant.

Please follow our directions listed below:

  1. Avoid Overexposure. We recommend that you practice Sensible, Moderate, Appropriate, and Responsible T Tan Smart Don’t Ever Sunburn. Tanning in moderation (3-4 times per week) over a 3-6 week period of time is the best way to achieve desired tan. As with natural sunlight, overexposure can cause eye injury, skin injury, impairment of the immune system, premature aging, and allergic reactions. Repeated over exposure may cause premature aging of the skin, dryness, wrinkling, and sometimes skin cancer. Note: If you do not develop a tan with the sun, you are unlikely to develop a tan from use of our tanning devices at Hawaiian TanFastic.


  1. Certain medications, cosmetics, lotions, and other products may cause your skin to be more sensitive to UV exposure. Common medications that increase UV sensitivity include, but not limited to: tranquilizers, diuretics, antibiotics, high blood pressure medication, and birth control medication. Some herbal supplements may also cause UV sensitivity. A complete list of agents that cause UV sensitivity is posted along each hallway. Ask us for assistance and/or check with your physician or pharmacist if you are unsure about the medication you are taking or if you have had a problem with outdoor or indoor tanning in the past.


  1. Wear protective eyewear. Failure to wear protective eyewear may result in severe burns or long term injury to the eyes. We recommend that you remove contact lenses before tanning. Towels DO NOT block UV rays.


  1. Minor Consent. State of Ohio has strict Under 18 rules/laws. Parental consent for minors required on a separate form.

  1. We recommend that you do not tan outdoors on days you are tanning indoors, and that you do not tan if you have sunburn.


  1. It is against State and Federal regulations to tan more than one time per day at any indoor tanning salon. Likewise, tanning at more than one indoor tanning salon in one day is not advisable.


  1. Different skin types respond differently to tanning. Some customers will tan very quickly, while others it may take more visits.


  1. Because our Level 1 or "regular" bed is considered an upgrade bed at other facilities in the area, our initial recommendation may be lower than what you are accustomed to. We take seriously time recommendations. Our philosophy is that we would rather be a little low and you are able to come back tomorrow, than to tan you too much and you are not be able to tan for a few days!


  1. All tanning sessions/packages are valid for 1-year from date of purchase. 1-month packages are valid for 1-month from date of purchase.


  1. No sharing packages. There are options if you are unable to use your package. Contact management.


  1. Appointments. We do not take appointments for the Level 1 sunbeds. We will accept appointments on the Level 2-5 sunbeds.


  1. As much as we love children, we are unable to supervise children. If you bring children to Hawaiian TanFastic, please make sure they are supervised while on Hawaiian TanFastic premises.


  1. Hawaiian TanFastic is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.


  1. We will close/suspend tanning during:
    1. A severe lightning storm. Free tan or upgrade will be given to any client that is inconvenienced due to us stopping their tanning session. Please call ahead during severe lightning storms for our hours of operation.
    2. During winter months, we will close during a Level 3 emergency (sometimes Level 2 emergency). Please call ahead during severe winter storms for our hours of operation.


  1. Hawaiian TanFastic will close for various holiday’s throughout the year. Signs will be posted at the tanning salon a week prior to closing for the holiday.


  1. No refunds on anything sold at Hawaiian TanFastic. There are options if you are unable to use your package. Contact management.


  1. Returned check fee will be charged. We also reserve the right to suspend acceptance of checks. No postdating checks.


  1. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time.

Release and Consent

I have read the contents of this consent form carefully and state that I am not aware of any medical condition or other reason that would prohibit me from tanning. I understand that while I will not be allowed to exceed the maximum allowable time posted on the sunbed I will use, my skin type, tanning history, and level of existing base tan may allow me to tan longer than the posted schedule. I have been given adequate instructions for the proper use of the tanning equipment, understand the risks involved, and use it at my own risk. I hereby agree to release the owners, operators, and manufacturers from any damages that I might incur due to the use of this facility.
