Sailing on our racing yachts can be a challenging adventure activity depending on the conditions, and has a degree of inherent risk that will be managed in accordance with the Trust’s professional risk management procedures, participants should be aware and accept responsibility for these risks.   The New Zealand Sailing Trust therefore asks that you sign the following acknowledgement.

While recognising that the NZ Sailing Trust Skipper and Crew will take every precaution possible to ensure the safety and manage the risks inherent in the activities you will be participating in, I agree that I will accept responsibility for observing all safety procedures (including the wearing of safety clothing and equipment), obeying all instructions and using equipment in a proper manner.

I agree that my sons/daughters written evaluation of the journey, group stories, videos or photographs may be used in publications associated with the NZ Sailing Trust. Publications may include Trust newsletters, annual reports, websites, Facebook and in the media.

The NZ Sailing Trust is not responsible for any injury to passengers or damage to property for any cause whatsoever. People with medical conditions will be accepted at the discretion of the skipper. The NZ Sailing Trust reserves the right to return to Auckland’s Viaduct rather than complete the sail if safety of the crew or the vessel is unduly compromised due to weather or other circumstances.

In the event of accident or illness, I authorise the staff of The Trust to obtain such medical assistance for myself as may be thought necessary.
