Introduction

This is the Inaugural Athletic Managers Summit. The event involves key discussions on various recreation sports topics in a setting with other comparable level programmers. We invite you to attend this deeply-engaging summit of Mississippi Recreation and Parks Athletic Professionals. Please come prepared with issues you may have and ready to discuss solutions you may have for other cities.

Who Should Attend

Employees who are tasked to run recreational athletic activity programs for their local parks and recreation departments. Athletic managers, sports directors & programmers.

Schedule

Wednesday, December 20

10 A.M. - Volunteers & Officials, recruiting, maintaining, screening, training & certifications.

11 A.M. - Registration, Sanctioning & Team Makeup

Noon - Lunch & Learn (Sponsor Needed $300)

1 p.m. - Yearly Calendar, Travel vs. Recreational, Scheduling.

2 p.m. - Managing Coaches/Parents & Sportsmanship through conflict, socioeconomics, winning/losing.

The Athletic Managers Summit will host approximately 20-30 Parks & Recreation Athletic Managers and Sports Managers from District 1 of the Mississippi Recreation and Parks Association. The sessions will be moderated by members for a more interactive experience on key topics faced by parks and recreation athletic managers today.
