WHO IS ACCLAIM FEDERAL CREDIT UNION?
In 1972, Acclaim FCU was founded by Blue Bell (formerly VF Corporation, now Kontoor) employees who sought a superior banking alternative for themselves and their families. Acknowledging the diverse needs of individuals and households, they established a financial institution that offered secure investment, savings, and borrowing options at competitive rates, free from excessive banking charges. Presently, we continue to be dedicated to providing our members with the personalized, professional, and top-notch service they desire and deserve.

WHAT IS THE YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD AND WHY SHOULD I APPLY?
From the beginning, volunteers have been instrumental in Acclaim FCU's accomplishments. Our Board of Directors generously contributes their time and expertise to steer the credit union through the dynamic landscape of banking. This year, Acclaim aims to establish a Youth Advisory Board, acting as a connection between our offerings and the requirements of our future leaders. By applying to join our board, you'll have the opportunity to thoroughly understand the needs of your peers and customize products and services to cater to younger generations.
WHAT DOES THE YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD DO?
The Youth Advisory Board's primary purpose is to collect and exchange information concerning financial products, services, the requirements of their peers, and any gaps that exist between Acclaim and the youth and our community.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF A YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER?
- Between the ages of 18-26
- A Member of Acclaim (Not already a member? Not a problem! We will gladly assist you in becoming one and look forward to receiving your valuable input on the process!)
- Be able to meet monthly and report quarterly to the Board of Directors.
- Monthly meetings take place the third Tuesday of each month. (Meeting time to be determined by board once established.)
- Quarterly meetings to attend are in January, April, and October.
- Members can miss no more than two meetings throughout the year.
HOW DO I APPLY?
The application deadline is Friday, September 15, 2023. Completed application, including photo with media permissions, and letter of reference must be received by this date. Top applicants will be called during the week of September 18 to schedule interviews to be held during the week of September 25.
