Theological Field Education: Application

Students entering Theological Field Education at Phillips for the upcoming academic year must complete the application below in order to be admitted to the program. Program applications are accepted annually during the application period: April 1-May 15. Along with the application, each student will meet individually with the Director of Theological Field Education prior to being accepted to the program. This meeting will include conversation about the student’s vocational direction, their learning goals for TFE, and choosing a ministry site.

Complete this brief application in order to start the Theological Field Education admission process. Upon submitting this form, the Phillips Director of Field Education will contact you to make arrangements for a one-to-one meeting required for the approval process.

To get an idea of what you would like to accomplish in your field placement, and to insure that you are placed in a ministry setting that is conducive to your learning goals, please list three learning goals/priorities that you would like to pursue during field education. In the space below, enumerate (number 1-3) and write three basic goals (one sentence each) that you would like to accomplish through Theological Field Education. (Ex. 1, "I want to become a better preacher." 2. "I want to learn how to start a community outreach program based in a congregation." 3.
