Please Initial: Cal-Wood Camps operates en loco parentis, in place of the parent. I understand that I will make the best possible decision to assure social, mental and physical safety of all children in my charge. I understand that camp is a residential position with one evening and most of each weekend off. The majority of work at Cal-Wood occurs outdoors. This includes hikes, activities, entertainment and some overnights. Counselors are expected to have the necessary gear and attitude to deliver safe, high quality programming to clients. Staff must be physically capable of leading Colorado adventure experiences, this includes long hikes at altitude while carrying heavy gear, multiple days without modern bathroom facilities, ability to maintain restful sleep outdoors and a mindset that the safety and comfort of the client comes first. Finally, I understand I am to eat what the clients eat and may be asked to sing, dance and take a pie in the face. I will give you my best, authentic self. *

Please Initial: I understand that the length of a typical day varies, I may be scheduled to come in early or stay late. Every educator is asked to work two evenings and lead two meals per week. I understand that I will be asked to speak in front of large groups. The majority of work at Cal-Wood occurs outdoors. This includes lessons, hikes and activities.
