What is Motivational Interviewing?
Motivational Interviewing is a client-centered communication approach used for eliciting behavior change by helping clients explore and resolve ambivalence. The goal of using motivational interviewing is to help patients move through the stages of readiness for change in dealing with risky or unhealthy behavior.
Who should attend?
This training is focused on health care workers. Behavioral health staff, social workers, primary care providers, community health workers, nurses, home visitors, or care coordinators are encouraged to attend.
This three-part training series is an all day event, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. It is intended for health care, community health and social workers, primary care providers, nurses, care coordinators, etc. Our speaker this year is Jonnae Tillman.
These trainings are free of charge to attendees.
These trainings will be offered in three convenient locations: Aberdeen, Olympia and Longview. You are encouraged to attend one session within each offered month: January, March and June. Note, the same content will be taught in each location.
