All international passengers that are flying, regardless of age, must present a government issued, non-expired, U.S. passport BOOK upon flight check-in and for U.S. customs re-entry. Validate that your passport expiration date is acceptable for entry into the country you're traveling to. Some countries require passports be valid for a certain period of time before and/or after your vacation;standard is 6 months after end of travel date. Should you have questions, please contact us. Travelers with passports that are found to be washed, mutilated, or damaged may be refused entry. Cruise passengers on a closed loop itinerary only, meaning your cruise starts and ends in the same U.S. port, may present a birth certificate with a raised seal and a valid drivers license. Please be sure your drivers license is valid at least 6 months passed the last day of travel. Please note, passports are strongly recommended.
If you have a criminal conviction, it is your responsibility to check with the country you are traveling to regarding their laws for entry as some offenses will prohibit you from entering the country. If you owe the IRS back taxes, your passport can be revoked.
Also please note that if you are travelling domestically, after May 7, 2025, in the state of Louisiana (different states may vary), you will be required to have a REAL ID drivers license or ID card or passport book in order to be permitted for air travel.
Children under the age of 18 traveling with only one parent or someone who is not a parent or legal guardian should travel with a notarized letter of consent. It is the traveler's responsibility to provide the correct documents and failure to do so may result in being denied boarding for the flight.
European Travel: Coming in 2025, American travelers will be required to obtain authorization-- a European Travel Information and Authorization System or ETIAS -- to visit the European Schengen Area composed of these 26 countries:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. The Union said that the ETIAS authorization is valid for three years and allows Americans to enter the Schengen Area as many times as necessary. This can be applied for 15-60 days prior to travel and is a short online application process.
