We are an agency of 44 sworn officers and offer a vast variety of experience. Our Patrol Officers have the ability to investigate cases from start to finish. They are also able to rotate into different positions such as the K-9 Unit, School Resource Officers, Detectives and SWAT Team. Starting wage is $26.28 to $26.94 per hour, depending on experience. We pay for your POST certification and pay your wages while you become certified, which means that you are actually paid to get POST certified. Also, all equipment is provided by the Rock Springs Police Department. All Patrol Officers work four 10-hour shifts per week, with the shifts rotating every two months. We offer excellent benefits to include a 20-year retirement program, with your contribution paid for by the City of Rock Springs. In addition, Wyoming has no state income tax.
