Members Juried Exhibit 2020

ELIGIBILITY: This exhibit is open to all members of the West Hartford Art League. Work must have been created during the last 2 calendar years and not previously exhibited in a WHAL juried show. Work must be suitably framed and wired for hanging.  Wrapped canvases are acceptable. Framed dimensions may not exceed 50 inches on longest side.  Work on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas. Sculptures may not weigh more than 50 lbs.  Work will be accepted in person (hand delivered) or uploaded digitally. 

Pre-Registration Form: Complete, sign and mail to us by Wednesday, January 15, 2020. ( in house date - not mail date) Earlier entries encouraged. If you miss the pre-registration date, you may still enter but will be charged an additional $20 late fee. In an effort to alleviate mistakes and last minute changes that result in typo's, we strongly encourage pre-registration PRIOR to January 8.


TO ENTER: You may either upload work on our website or drop off your work in person.

Receiving: MONDAY, January 20 from 10 - 12 noon, or 5-7 p.m. Clubhouse gallery

Digital submission deadline:  Wednesday, January 15th,2020 12 noon.

Files should be named as follows: first inital, last name, abbreviated title, number (1-4). Digital image title must match the title on entry form.

Artwork WILL NOT be accepted before or after the dates noted due to space limitations and jury dates. NO EXCEPTIONS.

All artwork must have entry labels (from previous page) attached to the back upper left corner.

ENTRY FEES: $10 each. Limit 4 entries and two acceptances. 

Notification of Acceptance: Saturday, January 25th, by 12 noon.

Unaccepted pick-up: Monday, January 27, 10 -12 noon.

OPENING reception: Sunday, February 2, 2-4 p.m. Awards announced at 3 p.m. Clubhouse Gallery.

AWARDS: Best of Show: $500 cash prize. Additional cash awards and prizes.


Work may not be removed before the close of the gallery the last day of the show. Work not picked up by March 2 is left at owners' risk and will be charged storage fees of $10 per day.

SALES: All artwork must be for sale. A 30% commission is taken on all sales.

LIABILITY: Every reasonable care will be taken in the handling and storage of the works submitted; however the West Hartford Art League is not responsible for loss or damage. Accepted work will be insured at 70% of artist's retail price.

Please note: Artists who have work accepted are required to gallery sit one afternoon during the exhibit, or you may pay $25 to waive this requirement. Artists who live outside a 70 mile radius of West Hartford are NOT required to sit. If your work is not accepted, you may request a refund of your $25 fee. Please call the office in advance of unaccepted pick up. *
Submission Pricing: Enter the number of pieces you are submitting. Maximum four. You must put a number in each box. Example: Member: 4 *
Sign: I certify that my original art work(s) have not been previously exhibited in a West Hartford Art League juried show. Failure to adhere to this requirement will result ni automatic removal of the art work should it be accepted/exhibited. I agree to all conditions stated in this prospectus. I understand that images of my work may be used for publicity purposes by the West Hartford Art League to promote this exhibit. *
