This exhibit is open to all works which uses clay or wood as the primary medium, both functional and non-functional. Open to work that explores innovative approaches that result in creative new art works.
 
Eligibility: Work must have been created during the last 2 calendar years and not previously exhibited in a WHAL juried show. All work must be original, use clay or woood as the primary medium, and may not exceed 50 pounds. We reserve the right to remove work that does not meet this criteria, is deemed unstable or presents a problem to display. Shipped work that differs from submitted images will not be accepted. All work must be labeled with proper identification. No accepted work may be picked up before the close of the exhibit.  No changes in price, title, medium will be made after work is accepted  
 
To enter: You can submit up to three submissions. Please submit two images of each piece - one full view and one detail. Please upload digital images below. Entries must be submitted by October 7th.
 
Juror: Vicente Garcia. A professor at CCSU since 1997, where he teaches both undergraduate and graduate ceramics classes, Garcia has been working in clay and metals for more than three decades, exhibiting and selling his work at art fairs and festivals throughout New England and New York.  vicentegarciaart.com.


ENTRY FEES
$35 (non-members) includes up to three entries.  $30 (members)  
Payment can be made through our secure online system with a major credit card. We accept master card, visa, or discover. You can also send a check made out to WHAL and mailed to 37 Buena Vista Road, West Hartford, CT 06017. Payment must be received in order for work to be eligible for jury process. 
 
Awards: $500 in prizes to be awarded by the juror.
 
ACCEPTED WORK:
 
WEBSITE NOTIFICATION: Wednesday, October 16th, by 12 noon on our website. Look for a link under "call to artists." Please note: it is your responsibility to check the website as we do not notify by email. 
 
Accepted digital work must be shipped or delivered to the West Hartford Art League,
Monday October 28, Tuesday October 29th or Wednesday, October 30th.   No exceptions.
Please plan accordingly.
 
Shipping: Shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist. Arrangements for return shipping must be made prior to shipping.  We regularly use Pak-Mail in West Hartford (1245 Farmington Ave, West Hartford, CT (860) 561-1369, but you are free to use any shipping service you prefer.
Work damaged in shipping will not be presented. Please check with carrier on reccomended packing guidelines.
 
 
SALES AND LIABILITY:
The West Hartford Art League will receive a 30% donation on all works sold. Submission to this exhibit is done at artist's risk. By entering this exhibit, artist agrees to all conditions of this prospectus. WHAL will not be responsible for loss or damage to any work while in transit. All work will be insured at 70% of selling price while in the gallery exhibit. 
 
Publicity: The West Hartford Art League will advertise the exhibit online, in social media and in print. We reserve the right to photograph all entries for publicity purposes. Accepted artists are encouraged to send a resume for publicity purposes as well.
 
All work must be for sale. No exceptions.
 
Opening reception and awards: Sunday, November 3, 2 - 4 p.m.



Please note: Artists who have work accepted are required to gallery sit one Saturday or Sunday during the exhibit. Artists who live outside a 70 mile radius of West Hartford are NOT required to sit.
