SERVICE & SCHOLARSHIP ORGANIZATIONS

Paly's Rise Together Education is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving college graduation rates by providing mentorship, support and financial resources to low-income Palo Alto High School students who have been accepted to 4-year colleges or 2-year community colleges with a direct transfer agreement. Federal tax ID 47-4218680.
 
We help low-income PALY students get to and through college!
and, we need your financial support!

WHO WE ARE

  • A free after-school tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment program partnering with PAUSD to provide academic and social-emotional learning (SEL) support to 190+ students at Greene, JLS, and Fletcher Middle Schools.
  • A community service opportunity for 200+ Gunn and Paly students to mentor and tutor their younger peers. Students: volunteer here.

WHAT WE DO

  • Tutor middle school students to be ready to thrive at Paly and Gunn.
  • Match high school volunteers with middle school students to create impactful relationships, using a proven “near-peer” tutor model.
  • Provide professional tutor training, mentoring, and leadership skills training for high school volunteers.

Youth Community Service is a local non-profit organization that provides social-emotional service-learning resources in the Palo Alto District.

PALY Service Fall Fair & Service Day 2025:

  • Look out for the Service Fair at PALY in the fall where you can connect with agencies from across the community to do service.
  • In the 2023-24 school year YCS worked with students and school staff to host service projects on and off campus. SAVE the Date! PALY Service Day will be in the spring of 2025.
Engaging service activities for the whole family throughout the year:
  • Join the YCS email list to stay connected with service opportunities in the community for all ages. Join Our Mailing List.
Service Leadership and Community Events!
  • Youth Connect is a youth-led service after-school program open to high school students.
  • Summer of Service is an engaging program for high school students to complete up to 100 hours of service!
PALY YCS-Interact Club (open to all students):
  • Weekly service projects supported by YCS program staff and PALY teacher sponsor
